So, for my brood of boys and every other guy on the planet, here are five lies we’ve been told about guys. I want people to see them for who they really are, and not assume they know what they are like based on what they’ve been told about all guys. I admit that my sons are still pretty little, very much in the “snips and snails and puppy dog tails” stage of life, but I often get glimpses of the young men they are becoming. Or at least they are not true of every guy all the time. In particular, I’ve noticed that a lot of the things I’ve been told all my life about guys simply aren’t true. I’m telling you all of that because when you swim in a sea of boys every day, you learn a thing or two about them. Once you start adding in the boy cows (they’re called bulls), male sheep (rams) and goats (bucks) and our furry Goldendoodle Marley, boys rule my world at a ratio of about 10:1. In the delivery room it was like the doctors had this sentence on repeat. The guy who is so focused on your outward appearance will likely trip over his words when you throw him off track.I’m married to a mountain man of a husband who oozes testosterone and is super proud of his facial hair. The next time a smooth talker is smothering you with words of endearment, ask him which of your personality traits he likes the most. He knows what he wants, and he’s more than willing to keep showering you with compliments until you let your guard down. If he keeps staring into your eyes and telling you how beautiful you are, just know that he’s laying the groundwork to close the deal with you. He knows that calling you beautiful and any other term of endearment will flatter you, so he lays it on thick to get what he wants.
Men only want one thing free#
But for the guy who is looking to hook up, he will dish out the compliments like they’re free samples at Costco. But aside from being beautiful, you have an awesome personality, and anyone who has the pleasure of interacting with you is immediately impressed with your wit and your charm. We have already come to the conclusion that you’re beautiful. We’ve broken down this list of 15 lies all men say when the only thing on their mind is hooking up! Hopefully, for some of you that day will come, but for now, lets focus on the men who have ulterior motives, and they have a list of lies ready to dish out to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Maybe you’re secretly holding out hope that one day, you will find a man who not only says all the right things, but he actually means it.

There might even be a secret class they all attend, one that teaches them how to lie, lie, lie. Men aren’t getting any smarter, and it seems like they’re all reading from the exact same playbook.
